Poole mum stands for council that snooped on her
A woman who hit the headlines in one of the most notorious cases of a local council abusing anti-terror surveillance powers for trivial matters is standing for election to that council.
Jenny Paton and her family were spied on by Poole Borough Council in Dorset after it suspected she was trying to get round school catchment area criteria.
The council was later found to have breached the Human Rights’ Act. She is standing in the Branksome ward.
