Poole Pirates win third straight Knock-out Cup to cap 'unforgettable season'
A stunning team performance led the Poole Pirates to their third successive Knock-out Cup - as they swept aside the Coventry Bees.
The Dorset side put a disappointing Elite League Grand Final behind them - and despite missing their top four riders, pulled away from the visitors to Wimborne Road to record a 24-point win.

Poole team manager Neil Middleditch said: "Winning this, the second major trophy on offer - was a great achievement particularly under such difficult circumstances with injuries and enforced changes.
"Although it doesn't make up for the disappointment of last week when we lost the league title, given what we had thrown at us as far as luck was concerned, we are not complaining."

The result never really looked in doubt for Poole as they began the second leg holding a healthy 14-point lead. Krzysztof Kasprzak capped an impressive season with another great performance. The stand-in captain took 14 points, while replacement rider Niels-Kristian Iversen came agonisingly close to remaining unbeaten over the two legs. However, Michal Szczepaniak edged ahead of Iversen on heat 15.
Kyle Howarth also impressed for the Pirates, as did replacement rider Rory Schlein, as Poole comfortably retained the trophy - ending their season on a positive note.
"I am very proud of the team" added Middleditch.
"The lads have done brilliantly well in the past week to overcome Peterborough and now Coventry so let's enjoy the moment.
"We started the season with silverware winning the Elite Shield and we've ended it with the Elite Knock-out Cup in another unforgettable season of speedway at the club."
