Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a 'nasty attack' in Bournemouth.

Between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday December 27, a 46-year-old Bournemouth man was attacked in Branksome Hill Road in the Meyrick Park area of the Dorset town.

Detective Inspector Steve O'Donoghue of Bournemouth and Poole CID said: "This is an extremely nasty attack and the victim has been left with very serious injuries.

"I am appealing for witnesses to assist with the investigation.

No one has been arrested in connection with the attack.
