Top-grade tools make school's gardening a joy
KEEN gardeners at a primary school near Castle Cary have received a new batch of tools and equipment.
Parents, staff and pupils at Lovington School have been collecting Morrisons Let's Grow vouchers while doing their grocery shopping.
And in return pupils have welcomed a delivery of miniature garden tools, a set of kitchen scales, garden hose, potting tray and a rubber Tubtrug container.
The new equipment will be used by the school's gardening club, which runs from February to October.

Children get involved with digging, planting, weeding and eventually tasting produce from the school's vegetable garden – which often provides ingredients that the school's cookery club can use in recipes.
Teaching assistant Jenny Simmonds runs the gardening club. She said: "With last year's disastrous weather our plot wasn't very productive – although we did get a bumper crop of raspberries.
"The children are always amazed at how good fresh produce tastes, so we are hoping for a better crop this year.
"We really appreciate the support from everyone who collected the vouchers and this new equipment is going to be very well used."
Now in its fifth year, the Let's Grow programme looks to capture the imagination of children by showing where food comes from and inspiring youngsters to grow their own fruit and vegetable at school.
