Peace campaigner coming to town
A PEACE campaigner for more than 50 years, Bruce Kent, pictured, is to give a lecture in Wimborne at the end of the month.
Bruce will talk about 'Peace not War' at the Allendale Centre on Saturday 26th October. The doors open at 6pm, and the talk is from 6.30- 8pm.
Bruce is vice president of CND, Pax Christi and Movement for the Abolition of War, and also holds the Red Cross junior certificate. He is the former chairman of War on Want.
Bruce says: "The world now spends $1.7 trillion dollars a year on war and military 'security'. This vast sum, if redirected, could largely end global poverty and misery. The United Nations Charter signed in 1945 committed us all to work towards ending the scourge of war."
