Owners of stolen purses in Christchurch urged to come forward after man convicted of theft

A man has been charged with the theft of two purses in Christchurch - with police urging the owners of the stolen items to come forward.

43-year-old Robert Russo pleaded guilty to stealing the purses and was convicted at Bournemouth Magistrates Court.

Police Constable David Williams of Christchurch Police said: "One of the items is made of soft dark tan leather and has a gold coloured clasp.

"The second one - a light tn coloured soft leather purse - has a long looped strap, is of a well known designer make, has a motif badge and the designer's emblem embossed in the leather.

"Both purses are approximately seven inches long and four inches high.

"I would like to hear from anyone who had a purse of either descriptions stolen or who thinks that they have lost such an item."
