Opposition mounts to supermarket’s move to Sherborne
Opposition is mounting towards supermarket giant Tesco's plans to build a site in Sherborne.
The supermarket has signed an agreement with Torbeg Ltd, the freeholders of Sherborne Hotel, and will start consulting on its plans for the site in the new year.

A spokeswoman for Tesco said the site could create up to 200 jobs, but within hours of the announcement being made public an opposition group was launched on social networking site Twitter.
@nothankstesco is calling on residents and public figures to oppose the plans to protect independent retailers and Sherborne's high street.
