The X Factor finalist says his book, which hit shelves on October 11, details his life since appearing on the hit TV talent show, as opposed to an autobiography of his life to date.

He told BBC Breakfast: "With the success I've had, it has been nice to explain it in my own words. It's not really an autobiography, it's the last five years. The first few were a bit boring!"

The book also includes details of the singer’s bout of depression last year, following his appointment as Xtra Factor co-host, and a poor appearance on 8 Out of 10 Cats.

The singer yesterday told his followers on social networking site Twitter he was travelling to Bournemouth. He wrote: “Heading down to bournemouth now... Uhhhh Ohhhh Belated Halloween Night out me thinks...”

Murs has been travelling the country to promote his new book. This week he headed to Bluewater, Kent, Blackpool’s Grand Theatre, Derby and Wakefield.

Olly Murs’ next album, Right Place Right Time, will be released on November 26.
