Obituary - Philip Colwell
A WIMBORNE man who was involved with a whole raft of local organisations has died at the age of 83.
Philip Colwell, who had been a headteacher in Kent, moved to Wimborne with his wife Elizabeth in 1997, and had a very busy retirement.
He worked with Wimborne in Bloom, East Dorset Heritage Trust, East Dorset Archaeological Society, the Civic Society and Friends of Priest’s House Museum.
He also used to take people on historical tours of Wimborne.

In addition to Elizabeth, he leaves son Christopher and daughter Catherine.
Mr Colwell’s funeral is to be held next Wednesday 9th October at 11.30am at Poole Crematorium. This will be followed by a thanksgiving service for his life at the Lantern Church at Merley, followed by refreshments.
