Nostalgia evening to raise awareness of oesophageal cancer
A nostalgia evening will be held this Saturday to raise funds and help purchase equipment for patients with oesophageal cancer at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
The event will take place at Salisbury Rugby Club on Saturday 21 September from 7.30pm onwards. The evening will include a live band, silent auction and a light buffet. The theme is nostalgia and guests are encouraged to dress up in outfits from war time 1920s to the 1950s.
The event has been organised by Lynn Ireland in support of her friend Jane Manning-Phillips. Jane was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer 18 months ago and has since hosted a variety of events to help raise awareness and funds.
Jane said: “We are hoping to raise £5,000 for oesophageal cancer at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital who do an amazing job to support patients with this type of cancer.”
