New patient transport service for Dorset residents
A NEW non-emergency patient transport service for Dorset residents launched this week. Commissioned by NHS Dorset CCG, it has been designed in consultation with NHS treatment centres and patient groups to provide an adaptable and reliable service to the local community.
To ensure patients with a medical need receive transport suitable to their requirements, the Dorset Patient Transport Bureau located in Bournemouth will process their booking. A separate 24 hour booking line is available for NHS personnel booking transport on a patient’s behalf.
To ensure all mobility requirements and weather conditions are catered for, a comprehensive fleet of vehicles ranging from four wheel drive ambulance cars to PTS ambulances has been provided.
Non-emergency patient transport services will be provided by E-zec Medical, a family run company set up by former NHS personnel in 1998. E-zec Medical operates a number of NHS contracts, including a PTS service in Hampshire.

We are confident that the new service will offer improvements on existing arrangements and will also demonstrate good value for money for local tax payers.”
