Virtual patient participation group starts
THE Wincanton Health Centre is set to launch a new way of interacting with its patients.
The centre became one of the first practices in Somerset to launch a patient participation group (PPG) eight years ago and is now set to become the first practice in the area to run a virtual PPG. Honorary secretary of the health centre John Bradley said: "PPG has become a valuable means of communication between practice and patient.
"Information flows one way from the practice, comment and suggestions flow the other from the patients.
"It is a recognition that whether we like it or not the internet can only grow and with this initiative the practice might well involve the younger members of the community whose interest is notoriously difficult to capture."
