New Dorset NFU head wants cull within two years

The new chairman of Dorset NFU, Paul Gould, is to press for a badger cull in the county within the next two years.

Mr Gould, who runs a 160-cow family dairy in the north of the county, takes over the chair from pig farmer Robert Lasseter.

He and his two new fellow Dorset NFU officeholders, Trevor Cligg and James Cossins, have been plagued by the disease for five years.

Dorset has 1,176 NFU members, a rise of 19, with Dorchester the busiest branch.
