New Ambulance service for West County comes into force
A new ambulance service covering the entire south west started its care for over 2,000 patients a day yesterday.
The South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust (SWASFT) had swallowed the Great Western Ambulance Service to become one body for the entire region.

The service will cover Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

The merger was given the go-ahead by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt last month after a long process in front of a range of boards.
