Brahms at Wimborne Minster
WIMBORNE Choral Society, conducted by Christopher Dowie, will be performing the Brahms Requiem at the Minster tomorrow, Saturday 16th March, at 7.30pm.
The choir will be accompanied on piano by Sam Hanson and William Ings and joined by soloists soprano Jane Oakland and baritone Andrew Foan. The programme also includes Schubert's Fantasia for two pianos in F Minor.

Natalie Clein and the BSO
CELLIST Natalie Clein reinforces her link with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra next Wednesday, 20th March, when she plays the Elgar Cello Concerto.
This piece, which won her the BBC Young Musician of the Year award when she was still a student at Talbot Heath School, is the highlight of a concert that opens with Beethoven's Coriolan Overture and ends with Sibelius's second symphony.
It is conducted by Kees Bakels, and starts at Poole's Lighthouse concert hall at 7.30pm.
Double bass and piano at Durlston Court
BOURNEMOUTH Symphony Orchestra's principal double bass David Daley will join Dorset-based pianist Duncan Honeybourne for a recital at Durlston Castle this Sunday, 17th March starting at 7pm.
The Dorset County Council owned and managed venue starts its 2013 series with the recital, and the programme includes works by Schubert, Bruch, Giovanni, Henry Eccles and more.

DCO at Wimborne
DORSET County Orchestra will be at Wimborne Minster next Saturday 23rd March for the Spring Concert, starting at 7.30pm.
The programme includes the overture to Borodin's Prince Igor, Beethoven's third piano concerto and Brahms' second symphony.
The soloist is the Latvian pianist Olga Jegunova, who has won many major international piano competitions, and the concert is conducted by Ian Pillow.

Haffner Ensemble
THE final concert in the 2012/13 Avon Valley series is next Friday 22nd March at the Trinity Centre in Ringwood.
The Haffner Wind Ensemble will perform works by Haydn, Telemann, Thea Musgrave, Ravel, John Harbison, Debussy and Berio. Each member of the ensemble – Nicholas Daniel oboe, Joy Farrall clarinet, Emer McDonough flute, Sarah Burnett bassoon and horn player Stephen Bell – is a chamber musician, soloist and teacher. They are regularly heard on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, have made numerous recordings and have toured extensively at home and abroad, including appearances at major festivals.

Russian programme for young musicians
WESSEX Youth Orchestra gives a gala concert at Poole's Lighthouse next Saturday 23rd March, at the start of its 42nd season.
Based at The College in Poole, the WYO attracts some of the most talented young musicians from across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. There are currently 95 musicians, whose ages range from ten to 18 years. As well as performing at Poole, the orchestra is preparing for London concerts, festivals and an international tour.
Next Saturday's Russian programme includes Rimsky Korsakov's Easter Festival Overture, Shostakovich's 2nd Piano Concerto (with soloist and former WYO member Helen Nicholas) and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.
The orchestra is conducted by its director, Susanna Riddell.

Choral celebration
THE Bournemouth-based La Nova Singers will give a charity fund raising concert in celebration of Spring next Saturday 23rd March at the West Cliff Baptist Church in Westbourne.
Light is My Heart is an evening of music to
chase away winter blues and includes pieces
by Mozart, Faure, Eric Whitacre and Howard Goodall.
Making their debut with the Singers will be Studio Choir, 16 women from teacher Michelle Nova's Bel Canto choral workshop.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Macmillan Caring Locally, the cancer care charity based at Christchurch Hospital.
