Matt Ritchie signs for AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth have bolstered their squad by signing Swindon Town's Matt Ritchie for £500,000.
The 23-year-old has agreed a thee-and-a-half year deal at The Goldsands Stadium, ending the Cherries' long-running pursuit.
Bournemouth tried to lure Ritchie away from Swindon in December 2011 - but have finally snatched their man from the struggling Wilthire club.
"I think it sends out a statement of our ambition and what we are trying to create here" said AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.
"I have known him a number of years and I have always admired him as a footballer and as a person, so I think it's a really good signing not just for now but for the future as well."
Ritchie will go straight into the AFC Bournemouth squad to face MK Dons on Saturday.
