Man taken to hospital after car hits tree lying across road near Wareham

A man was taken to hoptial with a suspected broken leg after his car hit a tree following heavy snow near Wareham.

At around 12:30pm yesterday, Dorset Police were called to Clouds Hill Cottage, near Bovington Camp where a vehicle had hit a tree - which had fallen down across King George Road.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident and cut the man out of his vehicle. He was taken to Dorset County Hospital to receive treatment for a suspected broken leg.

The Council removed the tree from the road with the help of the fire service, and the road re-opened at around 2:20pm.
