Major event cancelled after 'callous theft' at Dorset boxing club
A Dorset boxing club was hit by burglars - resulting in the cancellation of a major event.
Portland Boxing Club on East Street was broken into between midday on Sunday October 28 and 10.30am on Monday October 29. The offenders gained entry through a window and stole a safe containing money, entry tickets for an event in Luton and membership cards.
Police Constable Jenny Bousfield of Portland Police said: "I am appealing to anyone with information about this burglary to get in contact with us. This callous theft of money and personal information will severely harm the running of the popular club.
"The cards stolen hold the history and personal details of all the fighters that are members there, and without them they cannot take part in competitions.
