A Dorset charity is over the moon after raising thousands of pounds from their midnight Lunar Walk.

More than 80 people took part in Forest Holme Hospice's fifth annual event on Saturday September 1. Around £6,500 was raised, which will go towards helping the Hospice care for people suffering with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The space-themed fancy dressed walkers gathered at the Dolphin Shopping Centre and made their way to Sandbanks and back to the town centre for a nine-mile round trip.

Justine Foster, community fundraiser at Forest Holme Hospice said: "We want to pass on our thanks to everyone who participated - all the money raised will make a big difference to the lives of our patients and their families.
