Low turnout for Dorset PCC election
The turnout in the Dorset PCC election has been announced as 16.8 per cent.
Counting of votes has got underway at The Poole Lighthouse, with results expected to be announced by this afternoon.
Reports had suggested the turnout in Dorset could fall below ten per cent, but results were not an bad as previously thought.
West Dorset had the highest turnout at 21 per cent, while Bournemouth was the lowest with 13 per cent. Weymouth and Portland had a rate of just under 16 per cent, while 18 per cent of people voted in East Dorset, Purbeck and North Dorset - and 16 per cent turned out in Poole.
