Lorry drives off after demolishing Poundbury pillars
TWO large stone columns outside a building in Poundbury were demolished when a lorry collided with them in a fail to stop collision on Wednesday morning.
The vehicle, believed to be a skip lorry, struck the heavy pillars outside Poundbury Clinic on Middlemarsh Street at about 7.10am.

The entrance to the clinic was blocked by the fallen stone columns and a street lamp was also damaged.
Witnesses say the lorry, which didn't stop after the collision, was white with red markings.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "We are looking for witnesses and information relating to this incident. It is possible that the driver didn't realise what had happened because of the noise of the vehicle."
