Lord Coe pays a visit to Weymouth Beach Free Sports Arena

Paralympics fans checking out the Free Sports Arena at Weymouth beach this morning were treated to a VIP encounter when Lord Coe, Chairman of the Olympics Committee and legacy ambassador, made a surprise visit.

Lord Coe, himself a two-time Olympic gold medal winner in 1980 and 1984, visited the Free Sports Arena on Tuesday 4th September where members of the public were experiencing sport in a different way.

Lord Coe watched the wheelchair basketball and seated volleyball before moving inside where rowing machine races were taking place. He even found time to play a little table tennis and try his hand at giant golf!
