A SCHOOLGIRL from Sherborne is through to the regional finals of a major singing competition.
Lois Froude impressed judges in the early stages of the TeenStar auditions for emerging music stars.

Live performances in April's regional heats put the 12-year-old Park School pupil in with a chance of performing at the Grand Final at The O2 and being signed to a record label.
Lois, who is a member of Yeovil's Castaways theatre company, is now practising hard in the lead-up to the Southern region finals.

"She is incredibly excited about the next round," Lois's mother Kerrie said.
"She just loves singing and has been doing it since she was a toddler. She wakes up singing and sings all day whether she is happy or sad."
