Local businesses and volunteers "make Tisbury a great place to live"
THE South Wiltshire village of Tisbury is known by those in the know as a hidden gem. However, with the publication of a Sunday Times list of the 101 best places to live in the UK, this may not be the case for much longer!
Coming in at a highly respectable number 25 on the list, Tisbury is standing tall and proud this week!
There is so much more to Tisbury than its mainline station to London; the sweeping landscape of the Nadder Valley, cultural roots and a thriving community. It has a wonderful primary school, a plethora of small clubs, groups and organisations offering everything from dance classes to poetry groups.

Tisbury Business Association secretary Jilly Sitch said: "With so many small rural villages struggling, Tisbury is a great example of a community which is not only diverse and vibrant but is flourishing in one of the toughest trading periods in a generation.
"Our High Street has 'real' shops that sell things that people want, and those shops are run by people who really care about their customers."
Parish council chairman Patrick Duffy said: "We are delighted that our energetic community has been recognised in this way and it's a real testament not only to our businesses but to the huge amount of volunteer effort that goes into making Tisbury the place that is."
