Lighting up a disability swimming club
DAVID Allen, who is chairman of Wimborne Wagtails, has been fundraising to support the club which provides swimming opportunities at QE Leisure Centre for people with disabilities.
Having been lent a Paralympic Torch by a woman who was running with it in Regent Street, he visited various venues including Waitrose in Wimborne and Bugdens in Broadstone to give people a chance to be seen with the iconic carrier of the famous flame.

David had a successful week and raised £550 for the group which caters for ages from three to 84.
"We accommodate people with physical as well as mental conditions," said David. "We are wheelchair friendly and have a hoist to help people in and out of the pool. As well as swimming and water therapy every Saturday, we give members of the club a rich and varied social life during the year. This includes boat trips around Poole Harbour, summer barbecue at Cross Keys, Mannington, tractor and trailer rides at Kingston Lacy including ice creams at Barford Farm and pantomime at The Tivoli."
