A hat-trick from Lewis Grabban helped AFC Bournemouth maintain their impressive record under Eddie Howe - as the Cherries secured a 4-1 win over Oldham Athletic.

Despite a goalless first half, Grabban scored two quick goals after the break, before his third strike and a goal from Charlie Daniels sealed a comfortable win.

Speaking to the club's official website, Eddie Howe said: "It was a battle in the first half and I was pleased that although we didn't hit our top form, we didn't concede.

"I thought we were very professional in our defending in the first half and looked dangerous when counter attacking. The lads got their reward in the second half with four very good goals."

Grabban opened the scoring after a great ball from Harry Arter, before striking for the second time moments later.

Arter was tripped in the box mid-way through the second period, and got back in his feet to take the penalty. Despite Arter's attempt being saved by Dean Bouzanis, Grabban was on hand to strike on the rebound to seal his hat-trick.

Daniels struck with a header as Oldham gave up hope. However, a consolation goal from Matt Smith restored some pride for the visitors.

The Cherries are still unbeaten in League One under new manager Eddie Howe, and have won seven out of their last eight games.
