Leweston School in the top 5 per cent of schools for 'Value Added'
STAFF and pupils at Leweston School, Sherborne were delighted to learn that the Yellis Value Added feedback produced by Durham University Centre for Education has placed Leweston in the top 5 per cent of schools nationally.
Value added is a measure of the progress pupils make between different stages of education; if girls perform beyond expectations this is reflected in a high ‘value added’ score.

Leweston achieved an average score of +0.8 of a grade at GCSE and this high ranking demonstrates Leweston’s ability to add value to each girl’s education and encourage them to perform above original expectations.
The Yellis system measures performance to GCSE and is used by the majority of independent schools.

This top 5 per cent ranking builds on Leweston’s performance over the last few years when it has consistently been placed in the top 10 per cent of schools nationally.
At A Level Leweston achieved further value added with an average of +0.3 of a grade measured from pupil’s GCSE performance using Durham University’s Alis system.
