A landslide and floods blocked roads in Dorset as torrential rain brought more misery to the county at the weekend.

There were several more incidents of motorists venturing into flood water far too deep for their vehicles to negotiate.

Heavy rain brought flooding and landslides back to Dorset this weekend

In one incident at West Stafford, near Dorchester, on Saturday, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service rescued a man whose car was trapped in water between two and three-feet deep.

The landslide blocked the A353 at Osmington near Weymouth, and the Dorchester bypass was also closed, along with a stretch of the A352 from Warmwell to Preston. All the roads were reopened yesterday.
