Kasprzak ready to face former club as Poole Pirates wrap up league season

Krzysztof Kasprzak is hoping to get one over his former employers when the Poole Pirates wrap up their league season on Monday.

Poole's Polish star will face his former club, The Birmingham Brummies, with The Pirates' bid to claim top spot in their own hands after their win over The Swindon Robbins on Monday. Swindon kept heir hopes of taking top spot alive with a victory over Lakeside on Thursday night.

"I enjoyed my time at Birmingham last year and I like the track so I am looking very much forward to going there on Monday with the Pirates" explained Kasprzak.

"We want to win there and I think we can win there. It is important for me to score well for Poole as everyone at the club has been so good to me.

The 28-year-old Polish rider has been in sparkling form of late. Not only has Kasprzak been one of Poole's biggest points scorers, but he has impressed in Grand Prix series.

Pirates team manager Neil Middleditch said: "The importance of beating Swindon by eight points on Monday night means that the destiny of finishing top is now in our hands.

"We still have to go to Birmingham on Monday and get a result which is made even more difficult by the fact that the Brummies are desperate to win to claim one of the top four play-off places."
