Improvements for Hamworthy Park
A PETANQUE area, similar to those at Upton Country Park will be created near the existing car park at Hamworthy, while children and young people can also test their balance skills on the slacklining posts to be installed near the outdoor education centre at the eastern end of the park.
The promenade path will be extended and new self-closing gates at the entrances to the play area will be introduced. Up to 10 new beach hut bases - separately funded - will be laid enabling the placement of new huts.
The boat compound for the Outdoor Education Centre will be reduced in size opening up more of the park. Additional improvements include new secure fencing and the painting or replacement of existing storage containers - subject to planning permission).
