OFFICERS in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a fail to stop road traffic collision in the Branksome area of the town.

 

The incident, in which a cyclist was struck by an unknown vehicle along Alder Road near the junction of South Park Road, happened at around 7.15am on Friday 19 October.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene or leave any details.

 

The cyclist suffered a broken right wrist and deep lacerations to both hands.

 

Police Constable Jamie Griffin, of Dorset Traffic Unit, said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision and anyone who may have details about the other vehicle involved, to contact me urgently.

 

"I would also urge the driver in question to do the right thing and speak with the police.

 

"All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence."
