Harvell helps halt Magpies' slump
WIMBORNE Town goalkeeper Jason Harvell turned in two stunning performances to help halt the Magpies' slump in home form.
The team went into last Tuesday's home game against Shortwood United on the back of a run of just one point from their previous five Southern League encounters at Cuthbury.
The game was played in driving wind and rain with the Magpies grabbing the only goal in the first-half as Shortwood goalkeeper Tom King, hindered by the gale, parried the ball into his own net. A magnificent second-half display by Harvell saw them hang on to claim victory.
The Magpies were home again on Saturday when they hosted Clevedon Town and Harvell was again on top form as the game ended goalless. It was the first time Wimborne had kept back-to-back clean sheets this term.
