Harry for England!
HARRY Lane, aged 17, from South Brewham, was selected as the youngest member of the England Open Tetrathlon team to compete in the international competition at Hartpury College, Gloucester, recently.
Tetrathlon, at open level, consists of target shooting from 10 metres with an air pistol, swimming as far as possible in four minutes, riding a 110cm demanding cross-country jumping course and running a 3000m cross-country course.

Harry, a pupil at Sherborne School, is a member of the South & West Wilts Pony Club and was selected as part of the Under-25 England team following success at the South West Regional competition held near Taunton and then another good performance in an inter-regional competition in Yorkshire.
Harry's achievement was even more remarkable as, not only was he the youngest member of the team but he was riding the smallest horse. His mount, Jonny the Spy, who he has had for six years, is only just over 14.2hh but was not daunted by the challenging cross-country course.

The England team emerged victorious against Wales, Scotland and Ireland and Harry finished 11th individually in the National Championship class.
