FERNDOWN Town Council has over 100 people on its waiting list and no allotments. However, this may be about to change. Councillor Steve Lugg who chairs the council's allotments working party explains: "We have been researching possible land since May and over the next few years we plan to provide several green spaces around Ferndown for people to enjoy allotment gardening."

Councillor Jean Read, working party member and long-time champion of allotments in Ferndown adds "The Council is now negotiating for its first site but as we've been disappointed before we won't make any announcements until the legalities are completed. In the mean-time we would like to thank residents for their continued patience."

David Edwards, chairman of Ferndown Allotments Association and working party member, commented that he is pleased with the progress to date and looks forward to some positive outcomes in the near future for his members.
