Gills keep up pressure with win over Hengrove
Gillingham Town 2, Hengrove Athletic 2
GOALS from Jack Vallis and Gary Bowles continued Gillingham Town's bright start to their Western League Premier Division campaign with a hard-fought win over Hengrove Athletic.
Both sides were reduced to ten men at Hardings Lane, with two late strikes securing the Gills' seventh league win of the season.
After a disappointing first half, Vallis showed his scoring intent when his bicycle kick from an Aaron Rodriguez corner flew over the bar.

The hosts were given a boost when Hengrove goalkeeper Liam Macfarlane was sent off for dissent. However, the Gills were also reduced to ten men when Ben Thomson was shown his marching orders for stamping on 67 minutes.
Gillingham started to dominate and after Nick Thomson's effort came back off the post, the hosts finally made the breakthrough when Vallis fired home at the second attempt.
The Gills secured three points with ten minutes remaining when Bowles scored his first goal for the club with a well-placed free kick.
