Gillingham Town secure first league win since November with two quick goals against Longwell Green
Gillingham Town won their first Western League game since November as the Gills came from behind to beat Longwell Green.
Two strikes from Aaron Rodriguez helped the Dorset side move up to tenth place in the Western Football League Premier Division.
A heavy pitch at Longwell meant both sides found clear chances hard to come-by. However, the home side opened the scoring midway through the first half when Adam Bates' headed effort found the net with the help of the post.
The Gills were level soon after when Longwell Green's defence failed to deal with a long ball from Gillingham goalkeeper Jamie Beale.

The ball fell kindly to Rodriguez, who was able to calmly slide the ball home to get the Dorset side off the mark.
Both goalkeepers were rarely threatened during the first period, although the visitors nearly restored their advantage when a powerful long range effort thumped off the crossbar.
The Gills came out for the second period with all guns blazing and two quick goals gave the hosts an uphill struggle to get back into the game.
Two minutes into the second half, Ben Thompson cut inside and hit a powerful shot into the corner of the net to give the Gills their first lead of the game.
With Longwell Green still recovering from the shock start to the second half, Gillingham grabbed their third goal moments later. Thompson played through Rodriguez and his shot crept the right side of the post to give the Gills a two-goal lead.
The game slowed with both sides being restricted to half chances in the tricky conditions. Beale was forced into action to keep Gillingham's two-goal lead intact, but the Dorset side secured three points for the first time since November 10.
Gillingham face Winterbourne United on Wednesday night as they look to build on their important three points.
