Gary Johnson: Yeovil Town will learn from win over Colchester United
Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson believes victories such as Saturday’s will boost his bid to ‘re-educate’ his young squad.
The Glovers ended a month-long wait for points and a six-game losing streak by beating Colchester United 3-1 at the weekend.
Striker Paddy Madden – on debut after signing on loan from Carlisle – scored twice in the first half, James Hayter adding a third after the break.
Johnson said: “We have got a good group of lads, they just get a bit misdirected in their heads at times.

“At this level it is a lot to do with confidence. We are in (League One), trying to compete to go to the Championship. We are not a Conference club any more or a (League Two) club.
“We need to learn, we need to re-educate and we need to get things right.
“We will only do that if we win because people will only jump on board then.
‘People are learning, Keanu Marsh-Brown is doing a lot more than he was doing at one time, but I am not going to go through the team.
“I was nearly going to go through the whole team because they have all played their part today and credit to them. We have got some big games coming up.”
Johnson added that he would keep Madden – who is cup-tied for Tuesday’s Johnstone Paint Trophy clash at Torquay – grounded following his dream start.
“He’s Carlisle’s player and they paid money for him, we believe,” he said. “They needed him to get games so we will have to wait and see what Greg Abbott has in mind for him in a month’s time.”
