Gallery goes solo for the first time
A GALLERY in Sherborne is hosting a solo sculpture exhibition for the first time.
The Jerram Gallery, in Half Moon Street, will be showing the work of 18 sculptors in bronze and carved stone between Saturday, September 21 and Wednesday, October 9.
Organisers have said they were inspired by the success of "Bronze", a 2012 exhibition at London's Royal Academy.
Mark Jerram, founder of gallery, said: "We have always shown sculpture alongside paintings but there are very few complete sculpture exhibitions outside of London.

"We feel there is a great value and interest in this art form from the gallery-going public and we are excited at the prospect of showing work from 10 new sculptors alongside our existing sculptors."
Four of the sculptors are Dorset-based, including Marzia Colonna, who was commissioned in 2004 to create a statue commemorating the 1,300th anniversary of Sherborne Abbey.
The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, between 9.30am to 5pm. For more information visit www.jerramgallery.com.
