Flood warnings issued in West Dorset

Flooding is causing problems on the roads in West Dorset this morning.

The West Stafford Bypass is closed in both directions between the A352 and Highgate Lane in West Stafford.

Flooding and temporary traffic lights are also causing delays on the A37 at Grimstone near the A356 Dorchester Road junction.

There are also four flood warnings in place by the Environment Agency in West Dorset.

The South Winterbourne Valley is suffering from groundwater flooding , along with flood warnings on the River Frome.

An Environment agency spokesperson said: "Groundwater levels in the South Winterbourne Valley are rising.

"More rain is forecast into Monday morning which will cause groundwater and rivers to rise further. River levels in the area can be expected to rise rapidly following heavy rain."
