Firefighters rescue horse from ditch in East Dorset
A HORSE was rescued after becoming stuck in a water-filled ditch near St Leonards.
At around 12:45pm, firefighters from Ferndown were called to rescue a four-year-old mare.
The technical rescue team from Poole also attended the incident where the horse was stuck up to its shoulders in a muddy ditch containing water approximately two feet deep.
A local vet sedated the horse and specialist animal rescue trained firefighters used strops and lines to secure the horse.
