Fears Dorset street light switch-off will see rise in crime
People say a council’s decision to switch off streetlights to save money has led to a rise in crime.
A petition has been launched in Weymouth calling for lights which are switched off between 1.30am and 6.30am to be switched back on, and in Sherborne a town councillor described walking home from babysitting in the dark as like: “walking into hell”.
