Farming advice team regroups
The defunct Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group was reformed yesterday, after it was scrapped by the Government last year.
FWAG operated for more than four decades and its closure after Defra funding was cut was a step backwards in keeping farms profitable and environmentally sound.
Former Defra minister Sir Jim Paice spoke at the launch at the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust in Leicestershire.
Jim Egan, interim chairman of the new FWAG Association, said: “It’s great to see a new FWAG Association re-emerging and going back to its roots on a local level.
