Extra roadshows in North Dorset for new waste service
TWO extra roadshows in North Dorset are planned so that people can find out more about the new recycle for Dorset collection service.
The additional events are at Tesco in Blandford on Friday 15th February and at Tesco in Shaftesbury on Thursday 21st February. Both run between 10am and 1pm.
The roadshows are being run by Dorset Waste Partnership to allow people to see the bins and containers being used in the recycling and rubbish collection service when it comes into effect in June and to ask council staff questions.
Leaflets have been sent to 40,000 households in North Dorset and parts of East Dorset including Alderholt, Corfe Mullen, Cranborne and Sixpenny Handley.
Residents have until 28th February to contact the Partnership if they are concerned that the new containers will not meet their needs or they need help to move their bins.
The closing date for paying for an optional garden waste collection starting in June is also 28th February.
Roadshows in Gillingham, Sturminster Newton and Alderholt last month were well attended.
Others planned include the Corn Exchange in Blandford tomorrow, Saturday, from 10am to 1pm with others to follow at Corfe Mullen Town Hall on 16th February, Shaftesbury Guildhall on 18th February from 5pm to 8pm and Dike's supermarket, Stalbridge on 22nd February from 10am to 1pm.
