Ex-partner faces trial for assault
A MAN who denied an allegation of assault upon his former partner has been ordered to stand trial by South Somerset Magistrates.
David John Higgins, 44, of Kernow Mews, Overcombe, Templecombe, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Rebecca Pumphrey by beating during an incident at Templecombe on July 30.
The case was reviewed and the matter was adjourned until December 17 when the defendant must return to the court at Yeovil to stand trial.
Until his next court appearance Higgins was released on bail with conditions not to contact Rebecca Pumphrey or Michael Higgins directly or indirectly and not to go to Warwick Close, Templecombe.
