Head's pride at pupils' kind sale
GENEROUS pupils from Castle Cary Primary School supported two of their classmates by raising nearly £150 for charity.
The school staged a giant cake sale to raise money for JDRF – the type one diabetes charity.

It was organised by a group of Year 6 pupils after learning two of their classmates had the condition.
The tasty goodies were produced by parents and raised a total of £145.50.

Head teacher Chris Hansen said he was "full of pride" for the pupils' kind gesture.
He said: "I am incredibly proud of them all. They are credit to this school in so much that they do.
"Two of our Year 6 children have type one diabetes – one was diagnosed just before Christmas.
"A group of students came to me and said they wanted to do something to raise money for charity, which I thought was a great idea.
"As part of the enterprise education we offer here, I said 'it's over to them' in terms of organising, advertising and running it.
"They did a fantastic job."
Mr Hansen, who took over the reins at the school in August 2012, also thanked the parents who donated cakes.
He said: "It certainly shows the generosity of our parents.
"I think the cake sale taught the young people life skills, as well as teaching them the contribution they can make to society by supporting charity."
The cakes were sold during lunch breaks and after school.
