Double blow for Magpies
WIMBORNE Town suffered a disappointing Bank Holiday programme which saw them knocked out of the FA Cup and then losing their first league game of the campaign.
On Saturday the Magpies suffered a shock 1-0 FA Cup preliminary round defeat to Wessex League Fareham Town. The form which saw Wimborne pick up four points from their opening two Southern League games of the season, including a 4-3 victory in the midweek match against Bridgwater, deserted them as they were outplayed by Fareham.
The Bank Holiday Monday local derby at Poole Town saw the Magpies turn in a better display but they suffered a 1-0 reverse despite dominating the second-half.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Wimborne return to Cuthbury for a Southern League Division One South & West encounter with Swindon Supermarine, kick off 3pm. Then on Tuesday they visit Didcot Town, kick off 7:45pm.
