Dorset tourists rescued from high tide in Lyme Regis Harbour
A couple on holiday in Dorset were rescued by RNLI crew after becoming stranded by the high tide in Lyme Regis harbour.
Two middle-aged people from Beer, Devon became isolated while fishing on Monday night, and were rescued after suffering in the cold and rain for two hours.

The lifeboat's deputy launching authority, Garry Gibbs said: "The coastguards were unable to reach the couple safely because of the high tide, the current and the darkness so they called us out just after 9pm for one of our shortest trips across the harbour.
"The couple were very cold and drenched by torrential rain.

"The coastguards and our crew looked after them in the lifeboat station. They were then seen by the ambulance crew who later returned them to their address in Beer accompanied by coastguards."
It is thought the couple simply lost track of time, and did not realise how quickly the tide was rising.
