Dorset social workers win national Team of the Year award

A team of Dorset social workers have been branded 'Team of the Year' at a national award ceremony.

The 'Children who are Disabled Team East' won top prize at the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2012 at the Palace of Westminster.

The team offer a range of support to disabled children and their families, including short breaks and services to children in care on in need of protection.

Jackie Last, Dorset County Council's acting director for Children's Services said: "This team represents the overall quality of social work and occupational therapy practice in Dorset and I'm extremely proud of them.
