Dorset snow: Sherborne Primary School remains open while others are closed

Some Sherborne schools are braving the snow and remaining open today.

Sherborne Primary School, Simon’s Road, is the only primary school to stay open today in the area.

Schools across Dorset are shut following heavy snow

A statement on the school website said: “The school will remain open but will be operating with fewer staff than normal.”

Sherborne Girls’ School, Sherborne School and the International College all open, but are operating with less staff and fewer day pupils.

Leweston School and Leweston Prep has cancelled its bus services but the school is staying open.

A statement on the school website said: “Both schools remain open for boarders and for any day pupils who can safely travel into school.

“The majority of prep school staff have not been able to get into school safely so parents are advised to keep all day pupils at home.
