Dorset at risk of groundwater flooding as roads remain closed
Dorset residents are still being warned of the risk of flooding - despite heavy rain moving north away from the county.
The Environment Agency believes groundwater flooding in Dorset is likely, with flood warnings still in place across the county.

An Environment Agency spokesperson said: "Groundwater is also a cause of concern in some parts of the country, notably Dorset.
"Groundwater flooding happens when levels of water in the ground rise above surface levels and, after a summer of record rainfall, aquifers are already high.

"Groundwater in Cranborne Chase, Salisbury Plain and West Dorset will remain at Flood Alert. There is also risk of groundwater flooding in the area of the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas."
Some roads in Dorset are still shut because of flooding. The B3075 in Wareham is closed in both directions between the B3070 West Street junction and Nutcrack Lane.
Dinah's Hollow in Melbury Abbas is closed to southbound traffic between White Pits Lane and the B3081 junction due to flooding.
Flood warnings are still in place in the South Winterbourne Valley - west of Dorchester, the Lower Avon between Ringwood and Christchurch and The Lower Frome from Dorchester to Wareham and The Lower Stour from Sturminster Marshall to Christchurch.
